  • Yiyang is a graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Yiyang joined the group in 2021 and is working on the project - autonomous navigation of magnetic microrobots in topographic landscapes.

  • Raghavendra (Rag) graduated from BITS Pilani in 2019 with a B.E. in Chemical Engineering. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant at International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (TIFR) from 2019-2021. At Columbia, he is working with Kumar Research Group and Bishop Lab on computational soft matter physics.

  • Kyle Bishop received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University under the guidance of Bartosz Grzybowski.  Following his PhD, Dr. Bishop was a post-doctoral fellow with George Whitesides at Harvard University.  He started his independent career at Penn State University in the Department of Chemical Engineering. In 2016, Dr. Bishop moved to Columbia University, where he is currently an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Bishop has been recognized by the 3M Non-tenured Faculty award and the NSF CAREER award.  His research seeks to discover, understand, and apply new strategies for organizing and directing colloidal matter through self-assembly and self-organization far-from-equilibrium.

  • Ghanim graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering from UC San Diego. In his undergraduate research, Ghanim used silica nanoparticles that are loaded with therapeutic agents to improve the efficacy of cardiac stem cell therapy. Ghanim joined the group in 2018 and his current research is focused on understanding the hydrodynamic and electrostatic effects on colloids undergoing Contact Charge Electrophoresis.

  • Femke graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023 with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering. She joined the group in 2024 and her project is a collaboration between the Obermeyer Group and the Bishop Group. Her research is on active complex coacervates as a model for biomolecular condensates with internal structures.

  • April is an undergraduate student at Barnard College majoring in Chemistry with concentration in Chemical Engineering. She works with Yiyang on projects in the navigation of magnetic microrobots in topographical landscapes.
